So I have not start packing. I went and bought myself a thicker jacket that's suitable for 5 degree celcius weather. But the most exciting news I got today via Twitter was Big Hit Entertainment is recruiting.
Though finding a job is NOT a priority for this trip, I did think of that possibility. In fact I was asking myself if I should bring my papers along in the event that I should decide to look for a job. And sometimes the timing can be scary because it's like "didn't I just think of that yesterday?" and then today, Big Hit tweeted about recruiting. And I wonder if it's a sign.
So I got suzelle to help me look at what are the positions available and this was what she sent to me:
- Music production: A&R, Production
- Strategy planning team: Marketing, press relation, advertisement relation, brand management/design, concert, overseas business, fan management, Web PD.
- Scouting team: casting, trainer
- Management support team: finance, accounting, general affairs, legal
- Management team: artist manager
- Distribution: Music distribution, promotion marketer
Personally I would love to be in the strategy planning team/artist management. More on the strategy planning team actually. And though I might not have relevant experience, I can share from a FAN's point of view. Heck, I can even write a paper comparing the different strategies that I have seen thus far in the one year of following Korean entertainment. I don't know if they would take in foreigners though. But what did Dream High teach me? Especially the EMG auditions? Sometimes all it takes is the daring to try. If I get an interview, all nice and dandy; If I didn't, I'd do something else first but work towards that goal.
I have learnt something through my almost-30 years being on this Earth: Every second you take to THINK about the next step, Life continues. Earth continues to revolve. When you think you'd get another chance, can you be 100% sure? If you want to change the state of your life, you have to be the one to change it.
So yes, I'm going to send in that resume. And for the first time, I actually know what to write for the cover letter. Is that a good sign?
